In an exemplary display of legal and commercial expertise, TIGGES, a member firm and current President of the International Commercial Law Alliance (ICLA), has successfully guided KENO GmbH through a significant real estate transaction, cementing its reputation as a leader in international commercial law.

KENO GmbH, a subsidiary of the Polish KENO Group – renowned for its role as a distributor and manufacturer of photovoltaic systems and heat pumps – has made a ground-breaking move in the German market. The company recently inked its inaugural rental agreement in Germany, securing a state-of-the-art logistics and administration property in Hilden, near Düsseldorf.

This long-term commercial lease, valued at a substantial €16 million, was concluded with the project developer LogProject. The property, noted for its high sustainability standards, marks a strategic expansion of KENO’s operations in Germany, reflecting the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible business practices.

TIGGES played a crucial role in the fruition of this project. The firm’s real estate and commercial rental competence team provided comprehensive advice to KENO Energy on this pivotal transaction. Meanwhile, the firm’s Poland competence team and TIGGES Tax have been instrumental in providing legal and tax guidance, essential for KENO’s successful establishment in Germany. This long-term settlement underscores the dynamic growth of KENO and its increasing influence in the German market, particularly against the backdrop of Germany’s urgent energy transition needs.

The lease agreement also highlights the ongoing trend of direct investments from Poland into Germany, with North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) emerging as a prime destination. TIGGES has been at the forefront, consistently aiding Polish companies in expanding their operations into Germany. These companies often hail from burgeoning sectors like energy, healthcare, and IT, indicating a robust and innovative economic synergy between Poland and Germany.

The successful conclusion of this deal was facilitated by key members of the TIGGES team:

  • Dr. Dominik Wagner, LL.M. (Rechtsanwalt, Partner – specialising in Corporate Law/M&A/Polish Desk in Düsseldorf)
  • Devora Kacheva (Rechtsanwältin, focusing on Commercial Rental Law in Düsseldorf)

This transaction not only marks a significant milestone for KENO GmbH in its expansion but also exemplifies TIGGES’ prowess in guiding companies through complex legal and commercial landscapes.
