The International Commercial Law Alliance (ICLA) is delighted to announce the commencement of Dr. Dominik Wagner, LL.M. as our new president. Dr. Wagner took over the presidency from the former president, Douw Breed, during the annual ICLA conference held in Poland last week – hosted by TIGGES.

A senior partner at TIGGES, Dr. Wagner is an eminent figure in international commercial law, boasting over 15 years of distinguished experience. His expertise spans from company formations and cross-border trading activities to the corporate and real estate sectors (M&A).

With in-depth proficiency in contract, commercial, corporate, and real estate law, Dr. Wagner’s significant contributions to German-Polish business relations make him a linchpin for businesses operating across borders. His bilingual prowess in both German and Polish, combined with his board memberships with AHK Poland and his position at the Katowice Bar Association, further accentuates his stature in the German-Polish economic landscape. Adding to his executive credentials, Dr. Wagner has held leadership roles in renowned organizations like AIJA’s International Business Law Commission.

Dr. Wagner’s commitment to excellence is evident not only from his professional journey but also from his academic accomplishments. Having graduated from the Law Faculty of Ruhr University Bochum and the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, he subsequently earned his Master of Laws in Polish and international business law. Dr. Wagner’s doctorate in Polish foundation law and his prestigious accolades in commercial, corporate, and international business law further solidify his position in the legal realm.

In congratulating Dr. Wagner, outgoing President, Douw Breed praised the significant role that he has played on the Executive Committee thus far. “I am grateful for the encouragement that Dominik has provided to me on the Executive Committee, and I look forward to doing the same in support of his initiatives and activities as we continue to raise the profile of the Alliance and increase transactions between the member firms.”
